Pavel Novotný (footballer)

Pavel Novotný ( born September 14, 1973 in Kroměříž ) is a former Czech football player.

Career

Novotný began at Spartak Hulin, with 15 years, he moved to TJ Gottwaldov.

1991 obliged him Slavia Prague, for which he debuted in the 1st Czechoslovak league. From 1992 to 1993 he played under his military service for Union Cheb. Then he again played for Slavia, and 1997 he made 102 games, while the defender met 17 times.

In 1996 he was, without having made a single international match, nominated by coach Dušan Uhrin for the European Championship. There he was in the semi-final against France his debut in the Czech National Dress.

Called The 1.95 meter tall Novotný, because of its long legs also Čáp ( Czech for " stork ") was created in 1997 from VfL Wolfsburg committed, for which he completed 15 Bundesliga games. But about the role of a Reservsisten he did not get beyond. He moved to Sparta Prague. In the season 1998/99 he came in excellent shape, missed only three season games and a second time in the Czech national was employed. However, the remained 20 minutes in the 1-0 victory against Belgium in Brussels, his last in the national selection. In his second season at Sparta he was only twelve games.

In 2001 he went back to Sparta 's biggest rivals Slavia Prague, where mainly due to injury problems, he could not hold more foot. In two seasons, he completed only seven games. In 2003, he was loaned to second-division Bohemians Prague, but he made 2003/ 04 just five games. 2004/ 05, now vertragslos, he still coached at Bohemians, but injuries left no stake to more. In that season, he also served as assistant coach at Bohemians. Only in 2005 his health allowed back more, he moved to Xaverov Horni Počernice, where he made a few more games. In summer 2006, Novotný ended his career.
