Pavia di Udine
Pavia di Udine ( in the local dialect: Pavie ) is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5749 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Udine in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The community is located about 9 kilometers southeast of Udine at Torre. The administrative center of the municipality is located in the district of Lauzacco.
History
The towns of Pavia and Percoto were first documented in 1135.
Community partnership
Pavia di Udine maintains since 2008 a partnership with the Austrian market town Finkenstein am Faaker See in Carinthia.
Traffic
Through the community, the Autostrada A23 from Gonars leads to the Austrian border. The former Strada Statale 352 di Grado Udine to Grado has now been downgraded to a regional road. On the railway line from Udine to Cervignano del Friuli is the railway station in the district Risano and the breakpoint in the district Lumignacco.
