Pavlovian culture

The Pavlovian is a regional expression of the culture of the Upper Palaeolithic Gravettiens. The term was coined in 1959 by Pavlovian H. Delporte, according to studies in the extensive inventory of bone artifacts in Pavlov, Moravia. The term has since been used by some of the archaeologists for sites in Moravia, Lower Austria and Slovakia. Other authors also use the term Gravettian, to illustrate the principle, high uniformity of this archaeological culture.
