Pavlovsk, Altai Krai

Pavlovsk (Russian Павловск ) is a large village ( selo ) in the Altai region ( Siberian federal district, Russia) and the center of the Rajons Pavlovsk. It has (October 14, 2010 Balance ) 14,533 inhabitants.

Pavlovsk is on the river Kasmala, a tributary of the Ob, about 60 kilometers west of the regional capital Barnaul.

History

The village was founded in 1763. In the 18th and 19th centuries Pavlovsk was one of the largest settlements of the Altai mountain region.
