Paweł Abbott

Paweł Tadeusz Howard Abbott ( born May 5, 1982 in York, England) is a Polish footballer who plays in the Ekstraklasa for Ruch Chorzów. In addition to the Polish passport he also has the British nationality.

Club career

In his youth, played Abbott for the English club Beagle Boys York and in Poland for kujawiak Wloclawek, Wloclawek Włocłavia and Łokietek Brześć Kujawski. In 1999, he signed his first professional contract with the Polish first division Łódzki KS. However, he brought it in two seasons at just 8 appearances in the Polish Ekstraklasa and moved to England for the second division side Preston North End. Here, however, he could not convince and was loaned to the English fourth division FC Bury. For Bury scored Abbott in 13 league games five goals. After the season, he returned to be loaned out to Bury FC shortly to Preston North End back to right back. From 2003 to 2004 Paweł Abbott again played for Preston North End. Overall, it brought Abbott on 25 missions and five goals for Preston.

His most successful period he had from 2004 to 2007 at Huddersfield Town. With Huddersfield he rose to the League One and played in this whatsoever to the climb. In a total of 113 games Abbott scored 48 goals for Huddersfield Town. 2007 Abbott moved for £ 150,000 in the second English League for Swansea City. However, in 18 league games he scored only one goal and was released half a year later for £ 100,000 to the fourth division FC Darlington. In League Two, he was back to his old form. For the 2009/2010 season moved to Abbott Oldham Athletic in the League One. In 39 league games he scored 13 goals for Oldham. For the 2010/2011 season, he signed a contract with the Premier League rivals Charlton Athletic. End of February 2011, he moved to Ruch Chorzów in the Ekstraklasa, with whom he was in 2012 Polish vice - champion, then 2012 Zawisza Bydgoszcz.
