Pawnee County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Larned.

Geography

The County is located just southwest of the geographic center of Kansas and has an area of ​​1954 square kilometers, of which one square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Rush County, Barton County, Stafford County, Edwards County, Hodgeman County Ness County.

History

Pawnee County was formed on 26 February 1867. It was named after the former mainly based in Nebraska Pawnee, an Indian tribe.
