Paykan F.C.

Paykan Tehran (Persian پيکان تهران ) is an Iranian football club based in the capital Tehran. The Club is a division of Paykan Sport Club - further divisions are basketball, volleyball and handball.

History

1967, the club was founded by Mahmoud Khayami. Owner and sponsor of the club since its founding in the Iranian car manufacturer Iran Khodro Co.. Between the years 1967 and 1970, the club was able to commit from local rivals Persepolis Tehran because of the good financial situation known players, including Iran's football legend Ali Parvin. In the season 1969/1970 the club disbanded after some key players returned after quarrels with the club's management and the team management to Persepolis. By the year 2000, the Paykan Sport Club renounced his football division. In the 2000/2001 season, the Iran Khodro Co. acquired by Bahman FC Karaj the Azadegan League license, then the highest Iranian league. Although the club has not won national / international title, he is a well-known address for talented domestic and foreign players due to its solid financial situation and parent club structures.

In the season 2009/2010 Paykan Tehran in the IPL occupied eleventh place in the table. The season 2010/11 the club finished second to last place and dismounted in the Azadegan League.
