PDF/UA

PDF / UA (Universal Accessibility) is a variant of the PDF standard for accessible PDF documents. He has been published in August 2012 as an ISO standard ISO 14289-1:2012-07. The standard ensures that PDF documents to the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 correspond.

PDF / UA is currently not specifically supported by screen readers. The PDF Association has therefore the project goes NVDA PDF / UA launched together with the Swiss Foundation access for all to the open source screen reader NVDA to further develop, that it fully complies with the PDF / UA standard.
