PDTV

The abbreviation stands for PDTV Pure Digital Television, in German as " true digital television". It has been used around 2001 mainly in warez circles in the naming of files, which are then exchanged on the Internet. It is to indicate that the TV recording was ripped from a purely digital source. PDTV has compared to HDTV lower the resolution, image noise as with analog recordings is excluded.
