Pe (Persian letter)

Pe, Persian په, is a letter of the Persian alphabet, but not part of the Arabic alphabet. It was added by the Persians for the posting of the "P" sound, is missing in the high- Arab. In the same function, the Pe was also one of the to 1928 used in the Turkish Ottoman Turkish alphabet ( see Ottoman language ), even today we find the Pe in various advanced Arabic alphabets, such as in the Urdu and Pashto. The Pe corresponds in its basic form, the Arabic letter Bā, but is written with three instead of just one point. The Pe has no numeric value.

Also in some Arab encyclopedias, atlases etc. that Pe is used to correctly reproduce the P sound in foreign proper names.
