Peace River (Alberta)
Peace River is a town in northwestern Alberta, Canada, in the valley of the Peace River near the junctions of the Smoky River and Heart River. It is located 486 km northwest of Edmonton and 198 kilometers northeast of Grande Prairie. The local economy consists of agriculture, forestry and oil and gas extraction. Peace River is located within a large oil sands deposit, the Peace River oilsands. East of Peace River Green Valley Provincial Park is located.
