The peace fleet mirno more is an Austrian by the nonprofit association " mirno more - club for social and educational peace projects " every year since 1994 takes place always in the third week of September organized rally of sailing ships. The seat of the association is in Kritzendorf. The designation Croatian mirno more is the greeting and congratulations of sailors of Dalmatia, translated it means as much as peaceful sea and the peace fleet mirno more available since 1994 for tolerance, integration and peaceful co-existence and is the largest sailing project for socially disadvantaged children and young people.

History

The Association and its partner organizations in the field of youth organizing and social work, an annual sailing week with the title peace fleet mirno more to give children and young people from disadvantaged by the project week, a positive pulse in their development. With the first implementation of the peace flotilla in 1994 they wanted to the war in the former Yugoslavia oppose a concrete peace initiative. Under the motto " Cast all prejudices overboard and lives on a boat ", the project developed in recent years from 17 to 1,000 children and young people who participate each year in the fleet, or from 3 to more than 100 ships, with her crew - consisting of children - the fleet account. In 2008, the fleet consisted of 102 ships already with 950 participants from 18 nations, and in September 2010 received this largest sailing project for socially disadvantaged children the highest possible appreciation internationally, as part of an official personal reception by Ban Ki-moon UN Secretary-General. The peace fleet mirno more will be held in the Croatian Adriatic coast and due to the increased number of ships the peace flotilla is performed as a rally since 2006. This is intended to be given, and on the other hand still enough time to replace the entire fleet within the time for educational work within the crews.

Since 2003, within the meaning of the spread of this idea partner associations in Austria ( mirno more peace flotilla Salzburg), Germany ( mirno more peace flotilla Bavaria, mirno more peace flotilla Nuremberg ), Slovenia ( Mirno morje Slovenija ), Croatia ( Mirno more Čakovec, Mirno more Varaždin, Mirno more Kastela, etc.), Bosnia ( Mirno more BiH) and Serbia (Flora mira mirno more Srbija ). In 2010, there were about 100 vessels that participated in the project. Participant

The participants of the peace flotilla include socially disadvantaged children and young people from different backgrounds, but especially from children's homes, SOS Children's Villages, accompanied and assisted social housing communities and youth care office. One third of the participants is of foreign origin, with numerous refugees, orphans and displaced persons from the Balkans among them. Moreover, since 2000, also take part in participants with multiple disabilities mental and physical.

For socially disadvantaged children and young people the peace fleet offers a wide field of learning. When sailing, make a contribution for the crew, learn strengths and weaknesses, meetings with other international crews with a foreign language, even people with disabilities, are often completely new experiences and challenges that have to be mastered. Together on the chart plan your course, set sail together to counteract an unknown island and together experience the sunrise in a secluded bay - these are experiences that weld together the children and young people to a team and have a positive impact.
