Peach Girl

Peach Girl (Japaneseピーチ ガール, Pichi Garu ) is a completed manga series of Japanese illustrator Miwa Ueda, which was also implemented as an anime series. She is assigned to the shōjo genre and revolves around the relationship problems of a group of Japanese students.

Publications

In Japan Peach Girl was published from 1997 to 2003 in individual chapters in the manga magazine of Kodansha Publishing Bessatsu Friend. These individual chapters were combined in 18 anthologies, one of which was last published in February 2004.

In German the series appeared from 2002 in Egmont Manga & Anime (EMA ), first in separate chapters in the monthly magazine Manga Power. From May 2003 to February 2007 came the series completely every two months in paperback out.

The plot of the series was continued in the three-volume manga Ura Peach Girl (裏 ピーチ ガール), which describes the lives of the main characters Momo and Kairi after leaving school at the university. In Japan, the three volumes were published from 2005 to 2006, also at Kodansha. Since July 2007, the series appears at Egmont Manga & Anime in German, yet, in three volumes.

Filming

Studio Comet produced on the basis of the manga an anime series with 25 episodes and a length of about 22 minutes. This was broadcast on 8 January 2005 to 25 June 2005, the television station TV Tokyo.

Awards

Ueda Miwa received the Kodansha Manga Award for Peach Girl 1999.
