The Pearl Islands (Spanish Archipelago de las Perlas, Islas de las Perlas is also common) are an archipelago of 227 islands in the south of the Gulf of Panama. The name originates from the Pearl Islands Indians living there earlier, which dived for pearl oysters and operated trade with them.
