Pearl Jam Official Bootlegs

Since 2000, the American rock band Pearl Jam recordings sold their world tours.

1991 - 2000

In the early years there were no official recordings. However, in fan -organized supporters tried to build up a network, so that other fans could come easier and cheaper to live recordings. But as often fluctuated quality of service, Pearl Jam decided at the end of the millennium, to offer themselves the followers of recordings.

Binaural 2000

The tour that followed the release of their sixth studio album, Binaural in 2000, each concert was recorded and released as a bootleg, so that fans could get in good quality, but spared them the purchase of overpriced amateur bootlegs.

A total of 72 of these bootlegs came into the record. First, the 25 concert recordings of the European tour were subsequently published in two waves, the recordings of the U.S. shows. The albums consisted of a cardboard slipcase, which includes two CDs and on the back the setlist was written. The last world tour final concert at Key Arena in Seattle on 6 November 2000, there is even three CDs. The European bootlegs were colored beige, the American photographs were published in a gray slipcase.

Roskilde

From the tour all the concerts were released with the exception of the performance at the Roskilde Festival. Here in a massive crash due to great hustle and a wet lawn, nine people were killed. Therefore, the tape out of the public looked on.

Success

The fact that several albums were released in parallel, Pearl Jam put a new record on the Billboard 200: The first (and so far only ) one band managed to be simultaneously placed with five albums in the charts.

Subsequent tours

After the huge response from the 2000 tour with the idea of ​​the official bootlegs in all subsequent tours continued (2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010). First, the albums have been further distributed through record stores, recently was sold via download on the website of the band. The recordings of the 2007 tour will be published whether and in what form, is not yet clear.
