Pearl River County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Poplarville. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

The County is located almost in the extreme south of Mississippi, on the west by Louisiana and is in the south about 40 km from the Gulf of Mexico. History

The Pearl River County was formed on February 22, 1890 from parts of Hancock County and Marion County. It was named after the running here Pearl River.
