Pearsonomys

The Pearson - long claws mouse ( Pearsonomys annectens ) is a living in South America rodent species from the group of the New world.

Pearson - long claws mice are adapted to a grave New world lifestyle. The body length is 12 inches and the tail length of 8 inches, the weight is around 60 grams. The coat is short, but rough, it is light gray on the top and brown on the bottom. The short tail is covered with dense hair. The front feet bear the eponymous long claws which are flattened at the top.

These animals are known only from the vicinity of the city of Valdivia in the Región de los Ríos in the south of Chile. Their habitat are lined with sparkle Book temperate rain forests. To perform a partly underground lifestyle and feed primarily on invertebrates, such as insects.

The degree of risk is unclear, the IUCN lists them under " too little data available ". However, it is possible that their range is greater than previously thought.
