Pebble Beach Golf Links

Pebble Beach Golf Links is a golf course in Pebble Beach, California, USA. He belongs to the Pebble Beach Golf Company, which also operates three other golf courses in the community Pebble Beach.

Pebble Beach is often considered due to its location directly on the cliffs of the 17- Mile Drive as one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world. The green fee is one of 495 U.S. dollars the highest in the world.

History

The course was designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant and opened on 22 February 1919. The aim of the golf architect was to place as many paths as possible to the rocky shoreline.

Tournaments

The first professional tournament on the course were the Monterey Pensinsula Open 1926. Harry Cooper won the tournament with 293 strokes. 1929 for the first time a major tournament was held, the United States Amateur Championship. The tournament won Harrison R. Johnston. More sweeps of the U.S. Amateur there in 1947, 1961 and 1999, the U.S. Women 's Amateur in 1940 and 1948 took place in Pebble Beach.

As of 1947, the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am Tournament was at Pebble Beach held, now known as AT & T Pebble Beach National Pro- Am. However, only the fourth round takes place exclusively on the Pebble Beach Golf Links, the first three rounds to be completed alternately on the Spyglass Hill Golf Course, the Poppy Hills Golf Course and Pebble Beach Golf Links. The U.S. Open have been held five times here.
