Pedro Laín Entralgo

Pedro Laín Entralgo (* February 15, 1908 in Urrea de Gaén, Teruel Province, † June 5, 2001 in Madrid) was a Spanish physician, medical historian and writer. He is a member of the Madrid school of existentialism and in particular the generation theory of Ortega y Gasset developed.

Life

Entralgo was the son of a country doctor. He has published poems, short stories and novels. After studying chemistry and medicine in Zaragoza and Madrid, he worked in psychiatry.

Among the awards received belonged to the Prince of Asturias Award (1989). Entralgo was a member of the academies of language, history and medicine.

Entralgo kept the support for Hitler and Mussolini for his worst political mistake.
