Peichin Takahara

Takahara Peichin (Japanese嵩 原 亲 云 上; * 1683, † 1760) was from Akata, Shuri (now Naha ) in the Kingdom of Ryukyu. He was Okinawan martial arts master of death and Kobudo the early days. He was taught by Matsu Higa in the original art of Okinawan self-defense (Te). Among his pupils was Sakugawa Kanga.

Peichin is not part of his real name, but indicates its position as a member of the warrior class in the Kingdom of Ryukyu, similar to the Japanese samurai.
