History

The community Peißen belonged with effect from 1 January 2005, the administrative community Nienburg ( Saale). On 1 January 2010, until then independent municipality was incorporated together with the communities Baalberge, Bien village, Gröna, Poley, Preußlitz and welfare village in the town Bernburg (Saale ).

11 September 2011 Peißen was hit by a severe storm with hurricane and tennis ball -sized hailstones. Here, about 200 homes were damaged.

In the village are in disused clay pits two face natural monuments; the Lurchschutzgebiet Peißen and sanctuaries for endangered fish existed.

Directly by the district Peißen leads the federal highway 71 from Magdeburg to rounders. The Federal Highway 14, which runs from Dresden to Magdeburg is located west of Peißen.
