Pekka Hannikainen

Pekka Juhani Hannikainen ( born December 9, 1854 in Nurmes, † September 13, 1924 in Helsinki) was a Finnish composer.

Hannikainen studied in Helsinki, where he was a choral conductor. From 1887 to 1917 he was a music teacher in Jyväskylä. There his two sons, the composer Ilmari Hannikainen and Väinö Hannikainen were born.

Hannikainen composed several collections of choral and solo songs and issued Finnish folk songs and folk dances.
