Style

Pelican are often compared to bands like Isis, but are purely instrumental, and therefore more akin to the new wave of instrumental bands such as Mono, Red Sparowes or This Will Destroy You. Bassist Bryan Herweg said in an interview that in his view, a singer, the band would have limited, and in the case of a strong, screaming man would Pelican as a metal, has been considered in the case of a thin man as Emo. As an instrumental band they had set no genre boundaries.
