Pellionia repens

Pellionia is a plant genus of the family of the Nettle family ( Urticaceae ) from the tropics and subtropics.

Description

Pellionia species are perennial herbaceous plants or many types woody at the base, so there are subshrubs. The non- woody shoots are often somewhat fleshy and break off easily. Broken branches can easily but again take root. The plants do not have stinging hairs.

The leaves are alternate. From the original, opposite, couplets ( two line ) Beblätterung a leaf is always reduced and very small or entirely absent. The venation of the leaves is like a net, with many species except the midrib on each side still have two slightly above the base of the leaf branching, strong side ribs. Distribution and habitat requirements

The genus is widespread in the tropics and subtropics of Asia, and the Pacific Islands.

Most species grow on the ground of forests in valleys, ravines or other dark and damp locations.
