Peñaflor is located in central Chile, some 30 km south of Santiago in the capital region.

History
Peñaflor was founded on March 5, 1827 as Villa Peñaflor. On August 14, 1890, the municipality was Peñaflor. In 1981 she was renamed municipalidad de Peñaflor.
