Penny Wisdom is a comedic American short film from the year 1937.

Action

Matthew Smudge calls his wife and informs her that he has invited his boss and a colleague for dinner. Chloe goes to the kitchen to the cook to say about it. But she finds only a note. The cook has terminated due to the overly high expectations. Now Chloe tries itself to create a dinner.

After an hour, Chloe has burned the roast beef, buried the dog of the house in bread and transforms the kitchen into a battlefield. The narrator of the story asks Chloe where the phone was. He wants to call Prudence Penny, a columnist for the Los Angeles Examiner. 35 minutes before the expected arrival of the husband and his guests, Penny shows of doubting and despairing Chloe, how to build a complete and delicious meal.

Dinner will be ready just in time to arrive as Mr. Smudge and his guests. The narrator whispers Mr. Smudge ear that the cook had canceled the morning. Since Mr. Smudge around the cooking skills of his wife knows he feared a disaster. However, the quality of the meal surprised him. The narrator informs that the crash course had cost 2.83 U.S. dollars. Penny, meanwhile, secretly leaves the house while the narrator anschwindelt Mr. Smudge. He tells him that Chloe had finished dinner alone. Chloe nods, of course, while the dog seems to harbor other thoughts.
