Production and representation

Pentachloroethane can be obtained by the reaction of chlorination of trichlorethylene and ethene -induced chlorination of 1,2-dichloroethane.

Pentachloroethane is a little volatile, colorless liquid with a sweet odor chloroformartigem that is practically insoluble in water.

Pentachloroethane is used as solvent for oils and greases and natural rubber and resins. It can also be used for the production of perchlorethylene.
