The Pentax * ist DL is a digital SLR that came in July 2005 on the market. It has a 6.1 - million-pixel CCD sensor and a 3- point autofocus ( SAFOX VIII).

The Pentax * ist DL after the Pentax * ist D and the Pentax * Ds is the third digital SLR from Pentax. It differs from the * ist Ds by a modified viewfinder that not pentaprism, but works with a with a penta mirror viewfinder. The memory for continuous shooting and the number of focus sensors has been reduced. Also the display was on 2.5 " increases ( at constant 210,000 pixels). Eight white balance levels to choose from. The weight of the camera is 470 grams without batteries and memory card; it is 125 mm wide, 92.5 mm high and 67 mm deep.

By Pentax KAF lens mount - KAF2, KAF and KA- compatible lenses can be used. Older K lenses work with functional limitations when using the aperture ring is allowed in the camera menu.
