Pentax ME Super

The Pentax ME Super was built from 1980 to 1987 as a further development of the ME. In addition to the largely corresponding to ME, she received a manual exposure mode using two keys. The ME (ME = Mini Electronic ) Super is one of the electronic cameras that are dependent on the shutter control on battery power. However, the flash sync speed of 1/125 s is mechanically controlled and can be used even when the batteries as a " time of need ". The B- setting for any long duration exposures works mechanically and requires no power supply. The exposure is determined by TTL and center-weighted average. The camera has the K -mount with aperture simulation. She was at the time of its appearance one of the smallest and lightest 35mm SLR cameras.

Data

  • The Pentax ME Super is a 35mm SLR camera with TTL.
  • The closure of Seiko (MFC -E2 ) is a metal - bladed shutter ( focal plane shutter ) running vertically. Shutter speeds are adjustable from 4 to 1/ 2000 s and B, the flash sync speed is 1/ 125 sec Even with exposure times of more than 4 s measures and exposed the ME Super automatically, although the LED display only to 4 s enough.
  • The self-timer has a lead time 8-9 s
  • The viewfinder is a pentaprism with silver coating, the ground glass was exchanged by the service of Pentax. The viewfinder shows 92% of the film format of (95 % and 98% of image width image height ) with a magnification 0.95 -fold (50 - mm lens at infinity ). To focus are three setting aids: ground glass, microprism and split-image rangefinder.
  • The adjustable film speed ranges from 12-1600 ASA, the exposure is ¼ x to 4x adjustable.
  • The mirror has a pneumatic damper whose effect makes a mirror lock- dispensable and the camera gives a very quiet shutter sound.
  • Gallium arsenide photodiodes make the light receiving element of the exposure and control system of the ME Super.
  • When two batteries 1.5 V silver oxide ( G13 / A76, SR44 ) or 1.5 V alkaline batteries ( LR44) are used, the LED exposure indicator in the viewfinder serve as battery check.

Accessories

Special features include extra- Winder is offered ( Winder ME II) which provides up to two frames per second, the conqueror of the ME can also be used, but does not have the ease of use and is heavier.

Similarly, the standard rear cover will replace it with a data back (Dial Data ME back). This can be imprinted the following data in the film:

  • Year, month, day
  • Aperture
  • Exposure time
  • Focal length or number
  • Letters A- O.

Next available are corrective lenses with different diopters for the eyepiece.

The accessories program includes a selection of carrying cases for the case with two types of rear walls, different lenses and lens cutout ( Blimp - pocket).
