The Office Penzliner country is in the middle of the district of Mecklenburg Lake District.
The Office grew out of the merger of the offices Möllenhagen and Penzlin on 1 January 2001. Seat of the official administration is Penzlin. After the merger, the administration building was long operated in Möllenhagen a time as a field station. The administrative work is done by the executive community Penzlin.
The mayor of the city is in Penzlin Real Union the chief administrative officer of the Office. He is thus the highest full-time officials of the official administration. Since 17 September 2006, the current incumbent Sven Flechner has been confirmed for a further seven years in office ( as mayor of the city Penzlin ).
On 7 June 2009 the municipalities Groß Flotow, Great Many, Marihn and Mollenstorf were incorporated into the city Penzlin. On 1 January 2011 the municipality Klein Lukow went on in the city Penzlin. On 1 January 2012, the municipalities Krukow, Lapitz and Pukhov merged to form the new municipality Kuckssee. On the same day Mallin was incorporated into the city Penzlin.
