People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy

The People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy (English People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy, French Parti du Peuple pour la Reconstruction et la Démocratie; shortcuts: PPRD ) is a center-left oriented political party the Democratic Republic of Congo.

She has a political structure that was established by the current president of the country, Joseph Kabila.

In the general election of 2006, the People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy won a total of 111 of the 500 seats in the House and became the largest party in parliament. On 27 November 2006, the presidential candidate Joseph Kabila, who was supported by the People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy, declared by the Supreme Court of Justice the winner of the 2006 presidential elections.

In the Senate elections of 19 January 2007, the People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy won 22 of 108 seats.

The People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy also forms a part of the Alliance for the government Presidential Majority, which forms the more hits block in the National Assembly.
