Pepe Oriola

Josep "Pepe" Oriola Vila ( born July 9, 1994, Barcelona ) is a Spanish racing driver. It occurs since 2011 in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC).

Career

Oriola began his motorsport career in 2004 in karting. At the age of 15, he joined in late 2009 touring car racing. He went to the season finale of the Spanish SEAT Leon Supercopa and was immediately on the podium. In 2010, he remained in the Spanish SEAT Leon Supercopa and finished the season in fourth place overall. In addition, he participated for Monlau - Competicion SEAT León Eurocup on. In the race at Brands Hatch, in which his team-mate Francisco Carvalho survived a serious accident uninjured, he won his first race in this championship. At the season finale, he decided two more races for themselves and eventually became fourth in the overall standings.

2011 joined Oriola in the World Touring Car Championship ( WTCC) and went for Sunred Engineering in a SEAT Leon at the start. With an age of 16 years, 8 months and 11 days he was on his debut the youngest WTCC pilot. With two eighth places as the best results, he finished the season in 18th place overall. In addition, he was second in the European Touring Car Cup. 2012 remained Oriola with Sunred in WTCC. In his first race, he scored his best result so far with a sixth place. After the second event, he finished eighth overall.
