Pepperdine University is a private university in Malibu in Los Angeles County, California. The university belongs to the community of faith churches of Christ. 2010 were enrolled approximately 7,700 students. History

The Pepperdine University was founded in 1937 when George Pepperdine College. After the university was strongly affected in the Watts riots in 1965, drew the Pepperdine University Malibu 1972 after around and left the south side of Los Angeles to the increasingly African-American population. The sports teams Pepperdine University are known as the Waves. The university is a member of the West Coast Conference. The swimming pool, the Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool, 1984 was the venue for the water polo tournament of the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
