History

Pepperl Fuchs was founded in 1945 by Walter Pepperl ( 1921-2000 ) and Ludwig Fuchs ( 1920-1997 ) founded as a radio repair shop in Mannheim. 1958, the world's first industrially useful proximity sensor has been developed. The first foreign sales office there was in 1973 in England. In 1979, the first step towards globalization with the establishment of the first non-European subsidiary with its own manufacturing in Singapore.

Important acquisitions after 2000: Pepperl Fuchs took over in 2005 Extec Oesterle Esslingen.
