Per Gustafsson

Per Gustafsson ( born June 4, 1970 in Oskarshamn ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player who played mostly during his playing career for the HV71 in the Swedish Elitserien.

Career

Gustafsson began his career with the HV71, for whom he first played until 1996. After he had taken in the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 in the eleventh round at a total of 261 point, the Florida Panthers, he moved to the 1996/97 season in the National Hockey League for the Panthers. There the links Sagittarius completed 58 games and immediately became the second best scorer after defender points. After the season completed, the Swede games for the Toronto Maple Leafs and their farm team, the St. John 's Maple Leafs. Moreover, he came to assignments with the Ottawa Senators.

1998 Gustafsson returned to his hometown club HV71, played for the remainder of the season 2009/10. With 20 seasons in the jersey of the HV71, it is the Association's internal record holder for most games. In addition, the assistant captain in 1991 in a game against Luleå HF scored a goal in six seconds, which is considered the fastest shot the Elitserien.

Internationally

For the Swedish national ice hockey team Gustafsson stood at the World Championships in 1996 and reached the ice with his team to sixth place. His biggest international success came to him by winning the silver medal at the World Championships in 2003.
