Per Laursen

Per Laursen ( born April 16, 1966) is a Danish darts player, currently playing in the PDC. From 1987 to 2007 he played in the BDO.

Career

In his television debut in the BDO Laursen hit the set as number five Englishman Tony Eccles in the first round, but lost to then Shaun Greatbatch in the second round. This was followed by his move to the PDC, where he participated in the 2007 World Championships and won in the first round against Colin Monk 3-0, but then he lost to Dennis Priestley 3-4, although he already led 3-1 and eight darts for the match had.

Because of the Danish system of qualifications he was allowed in 2008 to attend the World Cup, but lost here in the first round against Alan Tabern 1-3.

Although outside Denmark Laursen gained little title, he is one of the best players in Denmark. He is, among other things three times Danish Champion ( 2004, 2007 and 2008 ) and reached the final of the Danish Open in 2006, where he lost against Vincent van der Voort.

Also at the PDC World Darts Championship 2009 Laursen was allowed to participate because he had won first prize in the Danish rankings. In the first round, however, he was beaten by Wes Newton 1-3.

Denmark in 2010 had lost its direct place in the main draw, so he had to participate in the international round. Here he lost 3-4 but with legs against Christian Perez of the Philippines lost.

Also in the PDC World Darts Championship 2011 Denmark held no direct space, so he had to go through the first round again. Here he won with 4-2 against Boris Krcmar from Croatia. Then he got to play against John Part, against whom he won with 3-0. In the second round he met Phil Taylor, against which he clearly lost with 0-4, although he played an average of over 90 points.
