Percy Carpenter

Percy Carpenter (* 1820 in London, † 1895 in London) was an English painter.

Percy Carpenter came from an artistic family, his mother was the renowned portrait painter Margaret Sarah Carpenter and his father William Hookham Carpenter, who worked at the British Museum as head of the graphics department. Percy Carpenter studied at the Royal Academy, where he also exhibited. Traveled between 1850 and 1858, he painted in Asia, including India and Singapore. On his return to England he entered the British Muesum to work, where he held the same position as his father with time.
