Percy Herbert (actor)

Percy Herbert ( born July 31, 1920 in London, England; † December 6, 1992 in England) was a British film actor. He played mainly soldiers and was known for the film The Bridge on the River Kwai.

Biography

Herbert served during the Second World War as a soldier at the front and fell when taking Singapore in Japanese captivity, but then came free. In the early fifties he began his acting career. He starred in comedies such as Captain seasick, Casino Royal and Bob on safari as well as in science fiction films such as The Mysterious Island. Also in TV series such as The Marshall of Cimarron, Simon Templar and Dixon of Dock Green, he interacts with. At the age of 72 years he died of a heart attack.
