Percy Humphrey

Percy Humphrey ( born January 13, 1905 in New Orleans, † July 22, 1995 ) was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader of the New Orleans jazz and Dixieland.

His father is the clarinetist Willie Humphrey Eli, his brothers clarinetist Willie Humphrey and trombonist Earl Humphrey (1902-1971 ). His grandfather "Professor " Jim Humphrey drove in the 1890s regularly from New Orleans to the plantations of the environment to give children music lessons.

He played from 1961 until his death regularly at Preservation Hall and toured the world with his musicians and his own band.
