Peregrino Anselmo

Juan Peregrino Anselmo - primarily known in Uruguay as Pelegrín Anselmo - ( born April 30, 1902 in Capurro, Montevideo, Uruguay, † October 27, 1975 ) was a Uruguayan football player.

Association

Anselmo, named for the April 1902 and August 3, 1904 as the date of birth of both the 30th, 1922 was first in series of CA Fénix and shot nine goals in 21 games for the Montevideaner. From 1923 he played for Peñarol. By 1935, 93 matches are listed in 159 games for him. At that time the Aurinegros 1928, 1929, 1932 and 1935 won the Uruguayan championship, the first two of them as an amateur championships. National

The striker was a member of the Uruguayan national football team. Overall, he completed between 1 November 1927, the August 15, 1934 eight caps for the Celeste. He met three times into the opposing goal.

Peregrino Anselmo was a member of the Uruguayan squad, who was able to secure the gold medal at the Summer Olympic Games in 1928. However, he was not used here. A trainer

In October 1962 he replaced the Hungarian Béla Guttmann as coach of Peñarol and led the club to the end of the year championship. He was replaced later in the following year by the club legend, the world champion goalkeeper from 1950 Roque Máspoli.
