Pergusa Lake
The Lake Pergusa is the only natural lake in Sicily. He is Pergusa, an approximately 5 km south of Enna lying district of this city, at an altitude of 670 m above sea level.
The Lake Pergusa is of volcanic origin and roughly circular. It has an area of approximately 1.8 square kilometers and a maximum depth of about 12 m.
Around the lake was around 1961 about 5 km long race track built, the Autodromo di Pergusa.
Due to the rich wildlife, especially migratory birds resting on the lake, the area was declared around the lake, a nature reserve in 1991.
