Perilex

Perilex is the trade name for an approved and standardized three-phase plug-in system.

There are two versions of the Perilex plug-in system. The common 16- amp version (DIN 49445/46 & ÖNORM E 6610/11 ) and the little- used 25 - amp version (DIN 49447/48 & ÖNORM E 6612/13 ). The connectors have a protective conductor ( PE), a neutral conductor (N) and the three -phase (L1, L2 and L3; old names: R, S, T).

In addition to the sequence shown (L2, L3, L1, N) still exist Alternativbeschaltungen (L1, L2, L3, N) and (L3, L1, L2, N), also meet the requirement of the law of rotation sense according to VDE 0100: "AC outlets must be connected so that there is a clockwise rotation when looking at the sockets from the front clockwise ".

The socket for the protective conductor is leading, that is, when inserting the plug into the socket contacts of the protective conductor safe first before all other conductors. To distinguish between the two versions of the protective earth connection is level with the 16- amp version, mounted vertically on the other hand at the 25- amp version.

Dissemination learned the Perilex outlet beginning of the 1960s in Germany. In recent years, however, this system receded into the background. In addition, there was with the metal connectors according to the retracted DIN 49450 / DIN 49451 a completely different system ( flat plug device ), in which four pins ( three phases and neutral) were connected in series and the direction of rotation was secured by a nose at the collar. While the old system was banned in 1975 in Germany, there was the old collar plug in the GDR even longer - existing installations had to be converted from flat plug on the CEE - round plug to 1998. Today, machines are usually connected with the CEE DC connectors according to IEC 60309, as this is common in many parts of Europe.

The areas of Perilex plug-in system are limited to small businesses (bakeries, kitchens, etc. ), health care (hospitals, laboratories) and private households. In industry and construction, the system has not enforced because the published there CEE connectors are more robust than the Perilex connectors and they are in contrast to the Perilex connectors approved for the medium-term outdoor use. Since 1 January 1975 Perilex connectors should not be reinstalled in the industry, but rather continue in households, hospitals and small businesses. In comparison with the CEE system are the benefits of Perilex system, the compact design and easy cleaning.
