Pernell Roberts

Pernell Elvin Roberts ( born May 18 1928 in Waycross, Pierce County / Ware County, Georgia, † January 24, 2010 in Malibu, California ) was an American actor.

Life and career

Pernell Roberts had earlier in his career, many guest appearances. Different Western series Roberts was known primarily for his role as Adam Cartwright in the television series Bonanza, in which he played from 1959 to 1965. Roberts left the series after the sixth season, the last "Bonanza" appearance, he completed episode 195 ( " Unforgettable Songs"; Original title: "Dead And Gone "). In episode 196 Pernell Roberts is also yet to see: German title " Pleasant quiet ", original title "A good night 's rest ." Although the script dramaturgy of the series was a return of the character he portrays open, Roberts never made use of this possibility.

Roberts was acting faithfully, but woke with the subsequent commitment no more attention. This only changed when he was in the 1980s, the title role of the chief surgeon Dr. John McIntyre in the television series Trapper John, MD took over. For this role he was nominated for an Emmy in 1981.

Pernell Roberts was married four times and had a son from his first marriage, in a motorcycle accident was killed in 1989. Roberts died of a pancreatic tumor.
