Perry Botkin Jr.

Perry Botkin Jr. ( * April 16, 1933 in New York City, New York) is an American composer, songwriter, arranger, conductor and music producer. He created some musical works for the cinema of the 1970s and 1980s. Among these compositions for films such as Fight the gowns, Do not think that we howl, Train to Hell, Goin or Tarzan - Lord of the jungle.

Life and career

Perry Botkin Jr. was born in 1933 in New York City, the son of jazz musician and composer Perry Botkin Sr.. In the late 1960s, the duo Barry and Perry Botkin Jr. De Vorzon found together. Both De Vorzon Perry Botkin Jr. and have worked together as writers, producers and arrangers with some of the biggest artists in the music industry and produced numerous hit singles. As an arranger Botkin Jr. worked with, among others, with Bobby Darin, Harry Nilsson, The Lettermen, Ed Ames or Harpers Bizarre.

Since 1970, Perry Botkin Jr. composed and even film scores. First, even with his partner Barry De Vorzon later alone. Botkin Jr. wrote the music for films such as Fight the gowns, Train to Hell, The trail of the black beast, Diamond Lady, Two for monkey business, Goin or silence for the horror film Night - Horror Night. He was for his song composition for film drama Do not think that we howl of director Stanley Kramer honored together with his co- composer Barry De Vorzon an Oscar nomination in 1972.
