Pershotravensk

Perschotrawensk (Ukrainian Першотравенськ; Russian Першотравенск ) is situated on the Dnepr - Donbass canal city in the northeast of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast of Ukraine. With 29,000 inhabitants ( December 2012) to only 2.9 sq km area is the city with the highest population density (more than 10,000 inhabitants / km ² ) of the Oblast. History

Perschotrawensk is one of the youngest cities in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The city's history is inextricably linked with the development of mining in the coalfield "western Donets Basin ". Founded as a small mining settlement, the town grew with the use of new coal mines " Western Donbass number 1 and 2". The first stone for the construction of Perschotrawensk that until 1960 was still called Schachterske, was laid in May 1954. Religion

Perschotrawensk is a unique case in Ukraine, because it is the first city in the evangelical church has more followers than the Orthodox Church. The number of Protestants in the city is up to 1000 people. The city is the center of the Ukrainian Evangelical Church "New Generation".
