Persona (satellite)

Persona (Russian Персона, GREY index 14F137 ) is the name of a new generation of Russian optical- electronic reconnaissance satellites. Persona is built by TsSKB Progress in Samara and probably based on the construction of the Resurs -DK - earth observation satellite, which in turn is a modernized version of the Neman Spotter. The payload ( telescope and sensors) is manufactured by Lomo and is supposed to be a modification of the payload of the Araks satellites. The take-off mass is in the range of seven tons. As planned life seven years are given.

The first launch took place on 26 July 2008 at 18:31 GMT clock with a Soyuz 2.1b rocket from launch complex 43 in Plesetsk. The satellite was designated Cosmos 2441st The start of the second Persona Persona 2 satellite took place on 7 June 2013.
