Peru is located in the southeast of the state near the border with Oklahoma. It is located 255 km south of Kansas City and Topeka, 127 kilometers east of Wichita, 105 kilometers north of Tulsa and 219 kilometers northeast of Oklahoma City. The city has an area of 1.0 km ². Neighboring municipalities are Chautauqua, Niotaze and Sedan.
