Peruc

Peruc ( German Perutz ) is a market town ( městys ) in the Czech Republic. You more than twelve kilometers east of Louny and belongs to Okres Louny.

Geography

The place is located on the right side above the valley of the creek Débeřský on a plateau. In Peruc the state roads 239 and between Louny Velvary, and the 237 between Libochovice and Nové Strašecí cross. Through the town built by the Prague - Duxer railroad railway Kralupy nad Vltavou - Most. History

According to ancient traditions Peruc was the scene of the romance of Prince Oldrich with the farmer's daughter, Bozena, from which his son Břetislav emerged. Recalled in place the Oldrich and Bozena - oak - source.

The first documentary evidence dates from the year 1170. Up to the Hussite wars the place was among the possessions of the Premonstratensian Strahov. Below is secular changed hands frequently. Among them were Johann Dietrich von Ledebur, who earned Perutz in 1673. Until 1718 Ledebur owned the place and in 1814 it was acquired by the noble family of Thun and Hohenstein. On 30 November 2005, a partnership agreement with the Saxon village of Leubsdorf was closed.

Attractions

  • Church of St. Peter and Paul, begun in 1694 by Antonio della Porta and completed 1760-1770 by Pietro Paolo Columbani.
