Perwang am Grabensee

Perwang am Graben is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Braunau am Inn in Innviertel with 918 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The competent court is the district court district Mattighofen.

Geography

Perwang am Graben is located at 531 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 4.8 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 4.8 km. The total area is 6.9 km ². 20.3 % of the area is forested, 69.6 % of the area is used for agriculture.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Perwang and rowing mountain.

Location

The community is located just south in the district of Braunau am Inn on the border with the province of Salzburg. Neighboring municipalities are Feldkirchen bei Mattighofen, Kirchberg bei Mattighofen, Palting (all Upper Austria, the district of Braunau am Inn ) and Bern village near Salzburg, Dorfbeuern and Nussdorf am Haunsberg (all Salzburg, Salzburg-Umgebung ).

The note in the place name " on Grabensee " is sometimes misleading. The lake is namely mostly in the province of Salzburg, accurate mainly in the neighboring community of Berne village near Salzburg. The only public beach on the Grabensee however, lies in the municipality Perwang on the north bank and operated by the municipality Perwang.

Coat of arms

Official description of the municipality coat of arms: Shared; above in silver a red brewing professionals with two golden bracelets, Henkel sullied with black rooster feathers; down in black and three gold, two -to-one asked, heraldic, five-petalled roses with green sepals and red hickeys. The municipality colors are white, red and yellow.

History

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to the Peace of Teschen with the Innviertel (then ' Innbaiern ') to Austria. Emperor Joseph II stayed in 1779 during his inspection tour through the newly acquired Innviertel in the former castle, now home to the parsonage. During the Napoleonic Wars shortly Bavarian, He joined the 1814 final to Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria. 1958 separated after a referendum the community Palting - Perwang in two independent municipalities.
