The Pesa is a river ( Torrente ) in the Italian region of Tuscany and ends after flowing through the provinces of Siena and Florence from south to north to 55 kilometers near Montelupo Fiorentino as left tributary of the Arno. The river has a catchment area of 339 km ².

Course

The source is located at an altitude of 893 meters above sea level in the town of Greve in Chianti between Badia a Coltibuono ( Gaiole in Chianti) and Badiaccia a Montemuro at the confluence of two smaller rivers source. In its course the Pesa flows through the municipalities of Greve in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, Barberino Val d'Elsa, San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Montespertoli, Scandicci Lastra a Signa and Montelupo Fiorentino.

The Pesa flowing in Val di Pesa on an average height of 286 meters. Inflows from right Terzona and Sugana and left Cerchiaio, Virginio and Turbone can make the Pesa in the winter to a raging river, while it falls mostly dry in summer. On the whole term cross a number of historic stone bridges of the river.
